Most people know that unless an employee is "exempt" from the overtime laws, the federal Fair Labor Standards Act ("FLSA") generally requires that the employee is compensated at a rate of one-and-one half times their regular rate of pay.  While the general requirements of the overtime laws are generally well-known, employers continue to purposefully or inadvertently make errors depriving their employees of compensation they are rightfully owed.  If you are not being compensated at an overtime rate for hours worked over 40 in a workweek, and are not "exempt" under the FLSA, you should consult with an attorney to determine your rights.
