Workers Compensation Retaliation

When employees get injured at work, their injuries are normally covered under the Minnesota Workers' Compensation Act.  It is illegal for an employer to retaliate against an employee for pursuing workers' compensation benefits..

Under Minnesota law, employers are prohibited from terminating an employee or taking other adverse action against an employee because of a work-related injury or because the employee pursued benefits under the Minnesota Workers Compensation Act.  But while these practices may be illegal, that does not mean that they don't occur.
